God, We Exalt You Here

God, We Exalt You Here

"It's so staggering that the God who set the earth in motion did so for a purpose and we are each a part of the completion of the story of God. Pair that with the language and imagery found in the book of Revelation and this song is packed with profound truth to help remind us of what immense significance and purpose our lives have not only for today but for all of eternity. There is something that happens every time we have sung the bridge of this song - there is power in the language we are singing of what is yet to come.

There is a running conversation amongst worship leaders that there are few strong congregational fast songs. Sure there are songs that are fast...But there are very few that have strong content and are very vertical in their language with an ability to draw the heart towards high praise. This song began out of a desire to write something that was fast with substance. May our hearts lean towards heaven just a bit more fully as we listen and sing together." (Mark Alan Schoolmeesters)

VERSE 1
God of all that went before us
God of all that is to come
You are, you are ever here with us
God who set the earth in motion
You complete what you've begun
You hold every heart in perfect love

PRE CHORUS
Great are the things that you have done
Greater things yet to come

CHORUS
God be praised forever and always
God, we praise you here
God you reign forever and always
God, we exalt you here

VERSE 2
God who calls us all together
God of every tribe and tongue
One day all the world will join as one
God, you fill us with your power
Let your Spirit fall on us
Send us, send us to the world you love

BRIDGE
We will welcome the coming king
We will join in the wedding feast
We will dance on the golden streets
We will worship your majesty
