Mercy

Mercy

"Psalm 25:6 says, “Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from old.” We wanted to write a song about mercy that felt old and weathered, that had grit and soul; more like an old spiritual than a modern anthem. To know someone who has walked through trials and made it to the other side is to know someone who understands the faithful mercies of God. They don’t just know it in their theology, they know it in their soul; we hope this song captures a bit of that sweetness." (Cameron Walker)

CHORUS
Mercy, morning by morning
Never stops rising, new every day
Mercy sweet as the sunrise
Bright as the daylight after the rain

VERSE 1
Walked through the valley of the shadow
Felt the pain of the darkest night
But then I broke through my fear and pride
Only to find, there all the time

VERSE 2
Walked in the light and found my freedom
Known the joys of abundant life
Fallen and feared I’d be despised
Only to find, there all the time

VERSE 3
I cannot control tomorrow
I can trust you here today
I will follow ‘til the promised day
When everything fades, but mercy remains
