Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd

"I’ll never forget the moment I heard my friend, Cameron Walker, utter out the statement: “familiarity is the enemy of wonder.” We were gathered in the basement of Aaron Keyes’ house, joining together for morning prayers with eager worship leaders from different churches round the world. Cameron was leading the prayers that morning and to my surprise he asked everyone to open to Psalm 23. In total honesty, I was a little shocked that Cameron would choose such a well known passage. We only had a week with this group of worshipleaders and they needed to hear something they hadn’t heard before…something that would give them a renewed hope and vision. Psalm 23? We might have just as well quoted John 3:16 together! But just before cynicism had gotten the best of me, Cameron spoke out the phrase that felt like a fresh breeze to my spirit: 'familiarity is the enemy of wonder.'” (Micah Massey)

I know you will lead me
Holy Spirit be my guide
Through trails of confusion
You're my lamp and you're my light

With you I will not fear
O good shepherd
With you I will not fear

I know you will keep me
Besides the waters, still
Before my greatest enemies
I will feast and be fulfilled

I know you will shelter me
In your house, oh Lord, I'll dwell
And when I walk through the wilderness
You flood with springs and wells
