Heaven And Earth

Heaven And Earth

"Hebrews 1:3 says something really profound about the person of Jesus: “He [Jesus] is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being.”

This is fascinating! According to this passage, when we look at Jesus we see God for who He really is. There is nothing that is in Jesus that isn’t in the Father. There is nothing in the Father that isn’t in Jesus. Humanity has long wondered what God is like, but there is a danger when we try to understand the nature of God without first looking at the person of Jesus. Through the process of speculation, many distorted images of Him have emerged. More times than not, we try to make God conform to our image rather than us being transformed into His.

Now, in the person of Jesus, we know exactly what God is like. John 3:17 says it best: “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” God’s heart is to save. Far too often, we’ve painted a God who looks like the Accuser…the one who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. God is the Advocate. He seeks to redeem, restore, and make all things new. Heaven and Earth proclaim that Jesus is the one who saves!" (Micah Massey)

You're the everlasting God, our maker
From the exodus to exile, the same
In the wilderness and wandering, the savior
You are faithful from the garden to the grave

Heaven and earth, heaven and earth proclaim
You are the one, you are the one who saves

You have loved us from the world's foundation
You have felt the fabric of the fall
You exposed the lie of separation
You have torn the veil for once and for all

Jesus, Jesus, son of God
You are the first, you are the last
You are forever
Jesus, Jesus, Lord of all
You are the king, you are the Christ
You are the savior

In the morning of the new creation
As the nations bow in joyful awe
Let the anthem of the saints and angels
Be Jesus, King of all
