Story Behind The Song: Hope

Writing “hope” was very interesting. It almost feels like I did not write it. It was a moment of inspiration. Within twenty minutes I had written the entire song, chord progression and melody. It was one of those rare moments in songwriting, when the lyrics just spill out of your mouth. Before I wrote hope I had been contemplating the state of the situation in the Middle East, with ISIS and the brutal murders that were happening to innocent peopl. I had also been thinking alot about the poverty we face here in America. I was inspired to write a song for the everyday human, and also for someone that feels hopeless and unheard. There are people here in our own country that are suffering. And there are upper class business men that are lonely and depressed. Hope is something every human needs. (Emily Brimlow)
