Mightier

Mightier

"I wrote Mightier while in the middle of a video shoot on the topic of songwriting. I write out of the Psalms quite a bit and, while they were asking me my methods, we flipped open to Psalm 91 and I began to sing a few of the lines. The topic of this particular Psalm is that even in the midst of the might and splendor of creation, God is the one who is deserving of praise, who is enthroned in glory. I've always connected with God through nature; its beauty is constantly inspiring me to think on God and wonder about the incomprehensibility of his capabilities and love. It makes me want to find more ways to sing his praises." (Aaron Strumpel)

VERSE 1
Mightier than the thunder of great waters
Mightier than the breakers of the sea
It's you who stands firm, it's you who is throned in majesty
Mightier than the skies that hold the clouds
Mightier than the heavens high above
It's you who stands firm, it's you who is throned in majesty

CHORUS
Oh the seas, lift up their voices
And the skies, pound their big drums
Yeah the rocks cry out your name
And time just stands still

VERSE 2
Mightier than the stones that hold the world
Mightier than the rock underneath my feet
It's you who stands firm, it's you who is throned in majesty
Mightier than the time that marches on
Mightier than countless centuries
It's you who stands firm, it's you who is throned in majesty

PRE-BRIDGE
Time just stands still, we just stand still
This glorious moment can't just end till
We sing out loud, we sing out to you, our love

TAG
Sing Out

BRIDGE
Mightier than the thunder of great waters
Mightier than the skies that hold the clouds
Mightier than the stones that hold the world
Mightier than the time that marches on
