The Speed Of God
The Speed Of God
The speed of God
Is not hurry
It is not bustle nor business
God need not hustle
Nor get haggard
God's speed is not "business lunch,"
"Walk & talk,"
"I'll pencil you in next Thursday"
It is always
P A T I E N T
P R E S E N T
It is farm walking the long road to our tables
It is earth
soil
birth
dirt
life
breath

AH YES!

I wrote "The Speed of God" with the hope of capturing the nature of my spiritual journey these past eight years. Eight years filled with questions, wrestling, tearing down, building up, unlearning, relearning, you name it. In this time I learned that the Spirit's sanctifying and transformative work in me was not merely a moment, but was moment by moment. Then as I look back and trace the arc of those moments into days, days into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years, I begin to see the speed of God. (Will Lee)
