Fountain Of Life
Fountain Of Life
"Dee, Freddy, and I were at a Common Hymnal writing retreat. We’d been writing all day. Most of the songs we’d written were mellow. So, as soon as we got together, we all had the same idea - to end our day having fun and writing something upbeat! The song is based around the hymn "Are You Washed in the Blood?" by Elisha Albright Hoffman, and the lyrics of the first verse are taken from that hymn. We started singing about the truth that we can bring our whole lives to Jesus - our celebrations, joy, shame, burdens, and worries. We can lay it all down at the water’s edge and receive the freedom that comes from His presence. Psalm 36:7-9 says, “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” As we walk daily with Jesus, we are renewed and restored by the abundant life that he brings! (Taylor Breen)"

VERSE 1
Have you been to Jesus for his cleansing power?
Are you walking daily by the savior’s side?
Are you fully trusting in his grace this hour?
Do you know the freedom that the Lord provides?
CHORUS
Oh come and drink from this fountain of life
Dance in this water and know his delight
See streams of mercy that never run dry
Come to this fountain, drink from this fountain of life
VERSE 2
So throw off your worries, give him all your cares
Come and leave your shame here at the savior’s cross
He’s the only answer for the load you bear
Have you been to the water? Have you been to the water?
BRIDGE
I was wrapped in my grave clothes
Now they’re untied
I was more dead than Lazarus
He brought me to life
Now I know resurrection
Death has no sting
I ran to the water
I drank from the water
