Hands Full Of Hope
Hands Full Of Hope
“Hands Full of Hope” was written with Truth’s Table, a podcast and community of Black Christian women who tell the truth about race, politics, and culture through the lens of faith. Their truth-telling is hard-won, and we wanted to write what it sounds like when it turns to celebration. We came to the table as guests of their work and left with a song that bears their name in one quiet line: “bring the table and bring the faith.” It’s what the hymnal is for, songs made with the people whose lives and convictions they carry.

VERSE 2 (RAP)

When I wake up in the morning I thank Him for my breath
I thank the most high I couldn’t do it by myself
He is a puzzle in my life I've been missing
Had a void in my heart now it’s gone, he did some cleansing.
Yeah we’re different and it’s OK
We gon bring the table and we gon bring the faith uh
There’s no delay, let me here you say
Heyyyyy Hooooo
Round of applause for all my queens
Better days we will see
For the women who still believe
We’re on the same team

Taste and see can you see it?
Taste and see can you feel it?
Taste and see can you hear it?
Taste and see
Clap it up for the women who still believe
Applause for the women who should be seen
Applause for the women who do achieve
Applause for the women who still dream
