Perfect Kingdom

Perfect Kingdom

"Inspired by the Prayer of Peace, found in the Book of Common Prayer, I wrote this lamenting piece that longs for a perfect world that is not present in our current reality. Using ancient and modern language, I draw a picture of contrasting events that have continued to take place over history like "drawing swords, waging wars, and building walls." Using synth-base pop sounds, as well as strings and piano, I hoped to capture a sound that is both ancient and future, while performing haunting, yet comforting melodies that capture this tension that we live in today. The heart of the song is about imagining a perfect world and perfect kingdom where all people, all races, all economical levels, all enemies, all friends, and all family can be seen dancing together in beautiful harmony that portrays the heart of the Creator."
