We Are The Echo (Virago Rise
We Are The Echo (Virago Rise)
Virago Strategies is a coalition of Christian women justice leaders working to change unjust institutions, centering women of color and sharing power instead of seeking prominence. We wrote “We Are the Echo” in the room with them, and the song sounds like how they work: honest that the work costs something, grateful to the foremothers whose wisdom they steward, and unwilling to wait for a seat at tables that were never built for them. They build their own. Being in that room shaped the writing as much as the writing shaped the song.
